"My name is Cath.  I am 22 years old and live at home with my husband and two children ages 3 and 4 years.  When I was 16 I left school and went to college, I left college at 18 with equivalent to 3 A levels.  My dream was to go to university to study to be a teacher.  I was enrolled and ready to start my degree in September 2010.

Meanwhile I met my now husband and got pregnant with our first child.  I decided the time wasn't right to go to university so I left my studies behind me.  I was now a full time mum, shortly after we got pregnant with our second child.  In 2013 I was ready to pick up my studying again and I came across support at Resolven Building Blocks who were offering a number of courses and free childcare too.  This was perfect for me as I needed childcare to able to me access studying.  It led to me volunteering too which I wasn't expecting to doo and I now felt that I had the opportunity to improve my life and not being home 24/7.

Through the skills I learned as volunteer I gained a part time job as an administrator and RBB supported me the whole time.  I have now been employed for 2 years and enjoying every minute.  I had the support of RBB and the free childcare to help me settle into my job while I sorted out tax credits etc.  I wouldn't be where I am today without RBB help.  I hope RBB can carry on giving local people like me opportunities to study and change their lives.

Thank you Building blocks for giving me and my family this opportunity

Cath, (please note: names have been changed in this story and pictures are not of 'cath')
