FT2 offers family led supportive service which will enable families to get the best start in life.  We want to empower families to build vital skills such as parenting, employability, confidence and provide advocacy support.  The service is fully funded by the Big Lottery Fund working with families across Neath Port Talbot

Families First Wellbeing4Me

Opportunities for children and young people with a disability aged 0 - 25 years

We can offer a weekly session for 12 weeks to provide an opportunity for:

  • Parent and Child - play development opportunities for children with disabilities aged 0 - 3 years
  • Children and young people aged 4 - 25 years the opportunity to build vital skills such as independence, socialising, share new experiences, grow in confidence and increase their overall well being

Families First Forward Steps

Are you a parent of a child/young person with a disability and need support?

Forward Steps can offer you a wide range of family support to help strengthen your family.

We can work with you to provide tailored support for your family’s needs.  We can offer:

  • Pre and post diagnosis support which includes behaviour, positive parenting, understanding Special Educational Needs and disabilities
  • Peer support networks to share experiences with other families
  • Information and advice
  • Therapeutic emotional support

Funded by BBC Children In Need

We offer a free service providing 2.5 hours of early intervention to help children develop.

We have qualified staff who are trained to support children. The sessions are held twice a week over a 10 week period which will help your child develop their Language, Speech and Social skills.

We are currently running this service at Resolven Building Blocks premises. We will be looking to deliver this service in a number of communities across Neath Port Talbot.

Talk2gether offers a fun and nurturing environment, with a range of play activities that will help promote your child's development.

Through a range of positive play opportunities your child will be encouraged to develop their:

  • Listening skills
  • Social skills

Disabilities & Well-being 4 Disabled Children/Young People Service

The service supports families with disabled children/young people with improving their mental well-being. This will be achieved through a dedicated Family Disability Well-being Worker focused on supporting families to improve their mental well-being and emotional resilience.

The service offers:

  • 1 - 1 tailored counselling for disabled children and young people
  • Workshops for parents to up skill parents in order to support their disabled children and young people
  • Mental health support for the whole family including referrals to partners

Building Blocks Food Bank

We are working in partnership with the Vale of Neath Food Bank to have a local point in Resolven that people living in Resolven, Clyne, Melin Court and Abergarwed can access.  It has been a pleasure working in partnership with the Vale of Neath Food Bank to deliver these services locally.
How to use the service?
To access the food bank you need a food voucher and then you visit the food bank at our centre where the voucher is exchanged for food.
While you wait for your food there will be an opportunity to have a cuppa and chat to support organisation if you wish to.  
Who holds vouchers?
So you can get vouchers from us at Building Blocks Family Centre or from the following organisations:
  • Ynysfach Primary School
  • Team Around the Family
  • Health Visitor
  • Hafan Cymru 
Opening Days and Times
We are open every Friday 9.30am - 5.30pm, if you struggle to get to the Centre then please contact us and we would be happy to arrange a delivery.
