Vision

Building the foundations of our families futures.

Mission Statement 

Building Blocks Family Centre provides a dedicated family support service i to families, children and young people living in poverty or who are a disadvantage living in the Neath Port Talbot area.

We aim:

  • To improve the quality of life of all children and families living in poverty or at a disadvantage in Neath Port Talbot. 
  • To improve the quality of children and young people and their families affected by disability
  • To enable residents of Neath Port Talbot to access employment, volunteering and training by providing childcare. 
  • To provide a quality service that reflects identified needs of children, young people and families living in Neath Port Talbot.
  • To promote and provide opportunities for families to improve their health and wellbeing.

Broaden aspirations to empower parents to work towards improved family quality of life

822 families accessing advice and information to help improve their quality of life 

410 parents accessing training and workshops to improve their quality of life

19854 Community members accessing advice and information in a parenting, employment, training, health & wellbeing to improve their quality of life

32 people employed locally - 2018

65 volunteers supported

To enable disabled children to have better opportunities, enhance their child development milestones and to engage with their peers

250 disabled children accessing dedicated support to improve independence, self-esteem and socialization skills

Enhance parenting skills to enable parents to provide suitable care for their children

636 parents who up skilled to improve their caring skills for their children e.g. parenting 

Children have increased opportunities to achieve their early years milestones

270 children accessing free childcare sessions in order for parents to access employment, training or volunteering opportunities

32548 childcare sessions for 0 - 12 years delivered

Children and young people will have increased opportunities to achieve their goals and aspirations.

800 disadvantaged children and young people supported by offering a number of play, social activities and events

65 young people developing a range of life skills

    Holiday club

    Summer holidays are coming, join us at Building Blocks for our lots of holiday club fun! We offer two holiday clubs during those school holidays, both club are catered to give your child a fun experience. We offer Kids Block for children aged (3 - 7 years) and Youth Block for children aged ( 8 - 12 years). We also have a range of activities going on with lots of fun with a number of sessions to meet your families needs.......

    Cath a young mum of two came to us suffering with depression, anxiety and low self esteem. She started out as volunteer and after her hard work and determination with our training team she is now happy and confident with her new career as a Finance officer.
